Marathon Expo:

Location – Mapple Leisure Resort, Sawaldey Village, Ramnagar Taluka, Nainital District.

Bib pick up for all races will be at the Marathon Expo on Mar 29th between 10am and 4pm. Anyone can pick up your bib on your behalf. NO race packets will be handed over on race day.

There will be information provided on the course. So if you are planning to run, block off some time for coming to the expo - you will get to know the way to the race location and will also meet several other runners and make new friends.

Come at the start of the expo to make sure you get as much info and are well rested for the big day
No bib – no run

Getting there:
Drive or take a train or a bus
As you reach RamNagar while coming in from Moradabad, you will come to a T junction – the right fork goes along the Kosi river, towards Ranikhet and the left fork takes you towards Sawaldey Village and the Khara Gate of Corbett Park and is also known as Dhela Road. Turn left and go down about 10km to Sawaldey Village There is a 1.5km narrow mud and pebbled track to reach Mapple Leisure Resort. We would recommend coming from Delhi by the overnight train - Ranikhet express - departure 1040pm from Delhi Junction and arrival Ramnagar at 5am. If you have planned well and got things organised for your jungle visit by your hotel or friends etc - we would ideally suggest that you go on a jungle visit straight from the station - as that starts at 6am, and then post that - freshen up and come to Mapple for the expo and race packet pick up.
Book accommodation and jungle trips early to avoid disappointment, Decide now - this is Corbett's peak season for visitors.

There are several staying options in Corbett but you need to book now as this is a long and busy weekend Listed below are some options that can be checked out on the internet and you can call the places directly for your bookings and info on pick up and drop from Ramnagar station, transfers to the Gala dinner at Mapple Resort, expo & the race at Sawaldey Village, safari's & more.

Running Safe:

Running is a fun activity but running in a race, like engagement in any activity, also comes with attendant risks, which you should be aware of, and only then enter.

Anyone registering for a our race should make sure that he/she is medically fit and does not have any precondition - however minor it may seem to them, that would indicate that they should not run eg being on some medication, onset of a cold or flu,not yet recovered from a flu or an injury etc.

Some runs are cross country which CAN have a incidence of ankle twisting, slipping and falling.
Some runs are at altitude which require acclimatization, and also listening to your body and heart and not pushing yourself beyond a limit. Walk when tired.
Some runs are in heat and in humidity, and require regular hydration to ensure you do NOT get dehydrated or start cramping.
Some runs are in colder weather which should also require some ingestion of salty items - sports drinks or other solids or liquids to prevent cramping.

We want you to have fun and stay safe, and do your bit towards that.

Before and at the finish:

Smile for the cameras. Hydrate and have your snack Medals will be given to each finisher at the finish line and a certificate with name, and timing (for half and full marathoners) will be handed over at the certificate counter. Check for photographs and mementos at the dinner in the evening of the 30th of March.

Do your piece of good

It's the 76th year of Corbett Park - read up about it, read a book of Jim Corbett, learn some more about the jungle and how we can possibly be of help, before we come to Corbett. Bring some old children's books with you - it would be a treat for the village kids who have no library - perhaps your contribution could help start one. Text books, story books, picture books for primary to middle school children would be a treat for them.If you have some old clothes that you no longer use, they would be of great use to some of the less well off, villagers in the buffer zone,Visit Sawaldey village in the buffer zone and understand some of the challenges of life in the buffer zone and around, And then participate in the brief workshop post the runs at Mapple Resort to see how we can become ambassadors of Corbett when we get back to our respective cities.

Dinner on the 30th of March

Will be at Mapple Leisure Resort starting at 7pm and will include a slide show of photographs taken over the 2 days. Costs: Rs 750 per head including beer and wine, children 12 and under are Rs 375 per person and 5 and under are free. Please book along with registration as booking at the expo and at the resort on the spot will be more expensive. This just helps us to plan better for this remote location.
